More quilts donated to Meals on Wheels Clients

- More quilts were donated to HSC Meals on Wheels clients from the Bodacious Bumble Bee quilting group.Our total received is now up to 50 quilts.

Meals on Wheels presented to FCE

- Volunteer Coordinator Dawn Shull spoke on behalf of volunteer opportunities for the Meals on Wheels and Transportation programs. FCE -Family and Community Educators were very interested in receiving information on various programs VPAS has to offer.A donation of $50.00 was given to help support our Harrisonburg/Rockingham Meals on Wheels Program.

ERSC Celebrates Earth Day with East Rock Students

- On April 22nd, in honor of Earth Day, students from East Rock High School joined the members of ERSC in decorating flower pots and planting Marigolds. Special Thanks to Kayla McKean, a student at JMU, for coordinating the event and providing the supplies.

Volunteer Appreciation Month

- April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! In honor of the wonderful and generous volunteers at ERSC, the members and staff held an appreciation breakfast on April 13. With a donated buffet of donuts, danishes, fruits, casseroles, muffins, banana bread, and cookies; the event was a fulfilling success!

Senior Centers Go to the Moon!

- A trip to James Madison University Planetarium gave the members of ERSC, TBSC and PRSC a unique look at the new race to the moon and our night time sky!

East Rock participates in Elkton Christmas Parade

- East Rockingham Senior Center participated in the annual Elkton Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 6th.

Election Day fundraiser at ERSC

- On Tuesday Nov. 4th ERSC hosted an Election Day fundraiser. Selling 12 pancake breakfasts, over 30 sub sandwiches, and 47 turkey dinners; the event was a success.

ERSC Enjoys CiCi’s Pizza

- On Wednesday October 15th, ERSC had planned to take a trip to see the fall foliage on the Skyline Drive. Due to the abundance of rain that morning and high winds, the trip was cancelled. When one door closes another opens.
